And the guys? Girls are very dear to my heart because I see how disadvantaged they are. But there is enormous pressure on the boys. So much is expected of them. That they take care of the sisters, that they at least become doctors or architects. They all want to be “boss” and have as much money as Ronaldo. You have no realistic assessment at all.

Do these disappointments make you susceptible to radical ideologies? Clear. That was worse before. But it’s not gone, it simmers and can go up again at any time. It’s all very easy to explain from the outside, but when you work in the middle of it you can feel the danger. We have seen this incredible hatred at times. On society, but also on yourself – because you can’t achieve what you actually want.

When you think about your school, what needs improvement? More promotion is not the way you write. There is a funding offer, but they don’t accept it. I think it takes several levels. It needs more mixing, directed if necessary. Our state government gets involved in a lot of things. Up to the number of toilets per teacher’s toilet, that’s no joke. But they do not interfere in directing the stream of students. But that is exactly what she should do – even against the will of her parents. And then of course the separation takes place far too early. Even at ten years of age, the saying goes, the good guys in crooks, the bad guys in the potty. Ethics classes instead of religion classes from elementary school. And it would also be very important to be more restrictive with your parents. In other words: by punishing. When girls are absent from swimming lessons or when they fail to appear in one of the special classes. And more pressure should be applied to get Muslim children to accept all-day school offers.
